FORCE OF HABIT brings together new work by Daniel Lee and Mike Michalski, examining typography as both system and rupture, language as structure, and language as impulse. In this exhibition, type is not neutral. It is performed, stretched, repeated, distorted, and ritualized. Letters become gestures. Words become objects. Familiar forms dissolve into tension between control and compulsion, the habits of design colliding with the habits of the body. Drawing from contemporary art, graphic design, and underground visual culture, Lee and Michalski investigate typographic expression as a living force: something rehearsed, inherited, and sometimes broken. The work oscillates between precision and volatility, restraint and excess, asking what happens when language stops behaving.
FORCE OF HABIT considers how repetition shapes identity, how systems become rituals, and how typography can operate beyond communication, as texture, memory, pressure, and presence.
