PINK CONDITION
OPENING FIRDAY, FEBUARY 13TH
The exhibition asks:
- What does pink signal now?
- What identities, gestures, or histories arrive with pink?
-
How can a single color complicate legacy, gender, visibility, and the body?
Pink is both sweet and sharp, tender and hostile, a site of tension. From industrial insulation to neon storefront glow, from blush and bruise to bubblegum and birth, pink carries emotional and political density. At Hard Return—an exhibition space already associated with critical material inquiry—the show becomes a “return” to color as both medium and message.
Artists working in any medium, typographic, sculptural, photographic, sonic, durational, or digital—will be invited to submit pieces that use pink as a primary material, concept, or emotional engine. The gallery will be transformed into a monochromatic environment: a place where pink saturates space, but each artist’s interpretation destabilizes its meaning.
